On his recent tour through Brazil; the music, locals, and the overwhelming beauty of the Brazilian culture took Goetz by surprise. While in Rio De Janeiro, Goetz recorded two tracks with Arthur Maia and Sergio Chiavazzoli, both fifteen-year veterans of Gilberto Gil’s band, who is Brazil’s current minister of culture. This experience inspired Goetz beyond expectation and soon, what was intended to be a few songs organically grew to be Goetz’s introductory full-length album titled Indian Summer.
After having the honor of working with some of Brazil’s top musicians, Goetz returned home to California to record the remainder of the album. Goetz and Producer Sidh Solanki teamed up with an all-star cast of players: Jason Yates (Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Citizen Cope), Dave Ralicke (Jack Johnson, Beck, Fiest), Grecco Burratto (Sergio Mendes, Shakira) to name a few. The album is peppered with trilingual lyrics and catchy hooks. Goetz’s stripped down and soulful California sound paired with his unforgettable sessions in Brazil have yielded a cross-cultural fusion of California soul, reggae and world beats. Come along for the ride.
